According to statistics released by Sophos, there is drastic fall in e-mail messages containing malware for the last 6-months. Last year there were one out of 31 emails containing virus & malware, where as this year only 1 out of 91 emails have virus, said Graham Cluley senior technology consultant, Sophos. Hackers seem to know this & have now changed their tactics and to avoid detection. Virus writers are focusing on Trojan horse programs, a malicious category of software which includes programs known as keyloggers, that send user log-ins and passwords to a server controlled by the hacker. One reason of virus taking toll is majority of consumers don’t have anti-virus software’s at all making them the target.
